IMPORTANT
REMINDERS:
FLAME: Generations of Faith on Fire
The FLAME staff has been meeting to plan themes for this coming
FLAME year! We kick off the year in September with the question Jesus
asks his disciples: Who Do You Say I Am? Join us in September as we
explore the images of Jesus we ourselves have, the images we find in
Scripture, and the image of Jesus we portray to others. In October we
pray along with the saints and servants of God with the theme Holy Men
and Women Pray for Us. We will learn about historical saints, current
saints and modern day holy people as we challenge ourselves to live as
holy people of God. The first week of each FLAME is intergenerational
(FLAME 1) where we meet in a large group in the lower level parish
center. The second time FLAME meets (FLAME 2) is always age appropriate,
with special sessions for adults, teens, middle school youth and
children. NEW this year to FLAME is our “Sacrament Track” where we will
be adding a third week each month for those families with children in
First Reconciliation, First Eucharist and Confirmation.
Thanks to your suggestions and survey results, we continue to make
FLAME fit the needs of our St. Albert parish family. Keep those ideas
coming! Contact Susan or Paula anytime.
Register for FLAME by downloading the forms on www.saintalberts.org.
You can also get more information on schedules, fees, Sacraments, Pray
and Play and more. Check out the FLAME icons on our website.

requested. PLEASE no cream pies, we do not have the room in the
refrigerator. Please deliver your pies to the kitchen on Saturday or
Sunday of festival weekend. Thank you!
Fresh Flowers Needed!
Fresh flowers are needed for the table at our festival dinner.
If you could share some beauty from your garden, please call Linda Woldt
at 837-3843. Thank you.
Please Note…..
AlbertFEST is a safe, family-friendly event for all ages. To
continue this tradition, we will be requesting anyone consuming
alcoholic beverages on the grounds to present a picture ID. You will
receive a wristband to wear once your ID has been checked. Don’t forget
to bring your ID!!
Food Pantry Weekend
June 27 & 28, 2009
Just a reminder that this weekend is Food Pantry Weekend at St.
Albert’s. Please bring non-perishable items to fill our collection
barrels at the church entrances. The shelves are empty at the Food
Pantry! Needs include: Laundry Detergent, hand soap, soup, flour, sugar,
beef stew, ketchup/mustard, cereal, jello, canned fruits. Please be
generous. Thank you for your support of those in need in our community!
RCIA-Is it for you?
The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) is a formal
process designed for adults who have never been baptized, adults who
have been baptized in another faith tradition, and adult Catholics who
were baptized as infants, but never had any formal faith formation
and/or have not yet celebrated First Eucharist and/or Confirmation. It
is a process that explores what it means to be Catholic. Through prayer,
instruction, discussion, reflection and special rites celebrated within
our parish community, adults learn what the Catholic Church teaches, and
what it’s traditions and experiences are like. The RCIA process begins
in October, meeting Thursday evenings at 7 PM. If you or someone you
know would be interested in learning about RCIA, please contact Paula by
the end of August.
Red Barn Volunteers
Monday, June 29th
Volunteers are needed to help at the Red Barn. St. Albert’s day is
scheduled for Monday, June 29th, from noon until 4:00 PM. If you can
come for part or all of that time, please do so. Questions, contact
Eileen Grimm at 837-3541. Thank you.
First Aid Help Needed
Are you a nurse, EMT, or certified in first aid training? Help is
needed to staff the first aid station in the outside information tent,
especially Saturday evening from 4:00-6:00 PM. Contact Linda Sheridan if
you can help, or add your name to the signup sheets in the narthex.
Summer Service Opportunities:
Youth and Adults looking for ways to serve others have many
choices at St. Alberts. Here are just a couple for the next few weeks:
Second Harvest Mobile Food Pantry on June 30. Unload the truck and
distribute groceries to local families in Sun Prairie. Contact susan@saintalberts.org
if available.
Albertfest Set up Youth Event on July 9. This has become an annual
tradition. The middle school and high school youth work from 10-4, then
are joined by more adults as we put the final touches on Albertfest.
Contact Susan at the above email to help.
Looking for help this summer? We have youth willing to lend a hand.
Contact Susan at the email above and let’s see if we can make it happen!
St. Albert’s Playgroup
The Playgroup continues to meet during the summer! We invite
all parents and children (school aged and preschoolers) to join us at
area parks on Thursday mornings from 9:30-11:00 AM.
July we will meet at Wyndham Hills Park (near Horizon School).
August we will meet at Orfan Park on St. Albert Drive (down the street
from church).
If the weather is bad, we will meet in the lower level of Albert House.
Any questions, please call Theresa at 834-0227 or Mary at 825-8469.
Baking Dishes & Pans!
There is quite an accumulation of bowls and pans in the Narthex
Kitchen. If you have dropped off a casserole or dish in the past few
weeks and have not picked up your dish, please stop by the kitchen and
claim it. All dishes not picked up by the end of June will be donated to
the Red Barn. Thank you.
