Choir Rehearsals Resume
Calling all vacationing choir members and any vocalists or
instrumentalists seriously contemplating joining us this season: The
first scheduled Wednesday night rehearsal will be September 8th from
7:00-8:30 PM in the church choir area. Questions, call Cecile Gregory at
837-3798, ext. 25. We look forward to another wonderful year of singing
and praying together! Thank you!
Planning ahead….we shall again be singing the Christmas cantata,
Candles and Carols, and we will be needing flute, oboe, violin, trumpet
and percussion players.
Music Ministry
We have been very happy to welcome a number of new members to
our groups over the summer, and we continue to hear from people who are
considering the prompt to join the Music Ministry of St. Albert’s. If
this has been on your mind and heart, consider joining us for our Season
Opener Sing-Along on September 1st. We’ll be singing through new music
and listening to some very inspirational recordings of several of our
upcoming selections. This should prove to be both fun and inspiring, and
we plan on a get-together afterwards. 7:00-8:30 PM in the choir area.
Questions, contact Cecile.
Liturgical Ministers….
This is a call for schedules of unavailability for the months
of October, November and December. Please email or write to Cecile with
your dates of unavailability, including Christmas Week and New Year’s
Day. Please include your name, chosen Mass time and your ministry. Thank
you for only including your dates of UNAVAILABILITY. This information is
needed by September 6th. The schedule will be completed by Friday,
September 10th. Thank you.

filled. You can find registration forms on our website or in the narthex
by the Big Red FLAME Box.
If you have registered for FLAME you will have already received a
letter from us confirming the dates you have signed up for, along with a
little gift to help you remember the FLAME dates on your household’s
calendar. If you have not received this letter, it means you have not
registered yet. Please feel free to contact us if you are not sure.
The FLAME picnic begins at 11:30 AM on Sunday, September 12.
Remember to bring lawn chairs and blankets. Food and drink will be
provided. Plan on staying until 1:30 so you don’t miss the closing

Dinner With Friends
We are so busy, do we have the time? Yes! We meet only four
times (October 2nd, November 6th, February 5th and March 5th) for great
fun, food and company. Mark your calendar and pickup a sign-up sheet in
the Narthex, next to the Dinner with Friends box. If you have any
questions or would like to help plan this year’s menus, please call
Joann Martinson at 837-4769 or Jean Theisen at 837-3114. Deadline to
sign-up is September 6th! Check us out by clicking
HERE.
Cantors Needed
A cantor proclaims (sings!) the Psalm and the Alleluia with
Gospel Acclamation, and leads the assembly in song. Although we have a
number of fine and very dedicated cantors, we are in need of a few more
in order to lighten the load of those already serving in this capacity.
It is a very fulfilling role for one with strong vocal leadership skills
and a desire to elevate the quality of our parish prayer life. If you
are interested in pursing the call to Cantor, please contact Cecile at
837-3798 ext. 25, see Cecile in person, or e-mail me at
cecile@saintalberts.org.
