Recycle the Warmth Blanket Drive
Friday through Sunday, January 27-29th
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is very pleased that St. Alberts
has agreed to help with our 20th Annual Recycle the Warmth Blanket
Drive. St. Vincent de Paul is an organization committed to helping our
neighbors in need without regard to the religion, race, or ethnic
background of those whom we assist. This drive helps us provide free
blankets, pillows, sheets and other bedding throughout the year to those
who seek our help. We need your help to make this possible.
Our drive will take place Friday through Sunday, January 27-29. To
participate, you may purchase new blankets, or donate your gently used
blankets and bedding to any of the Shopko stores in the Madison area or
drop them off at Church in the boxes provided. Your generosity is
greatly appreciated, and we thank you in advance for helping our
neighbors in need through this year’s Recycle the Warmth Blanket Drive.

Ministry of Mothers Sharing:
Morning Retreat: “Listening with the Ear of Your Heart”
Saturday, January 28th, 9:00 AM
Mothers, take a morning to focus on yourself and your spirituality.
Experience a reflective environment during the retreat “Listening with
the Ear of Your Heart,” in which women will develop an awareness of
God’s grace in all situations and gain a greater respect for God’s
presence in another person. This will be a three-hour parish-based
retreated offered by Ministry of Mothers Sharing-MOMS leaders. All
mothers are invited to attend—new mothers, mothers with teenagers or
grown children, and grandmothers are all welcome.
The Next MOMS Session will begin the week of February 1st. This is an
8-week session for a small group of moms, which meets for 2 hours one
night a week. MOMS session topics include: Self-esteem and
Self-acceptance, Stress, Worries, and Anxiety, Everyday Spirituality,
Feelings, Personal Growth, Expressing Values in Friendship, Continuing
the Journey, etc. To sign up or for more information regarding the

Luke House
Tuesday, January 24th
It’s good to start out the New Year by thanking the many St.
Albert’s parishioners who helped in any way to provide meals for the
guests of Luke House during 2011. The opportunity and the need carries
over into 2012. Our menu of chopped turkey and gravy over biscuits, peas
and carrots, applesauce, bread, milk and cupcakes remains the same. The
faces you see at Luke House might change, but the sense of community
remains.
St. Albert’s provides a meal on Tuesday, January 24th. Please note
that we always serve on the 4th Tuesday of the month which is not
necessarily the last Tuesday of the month. Sign up sheets are on the
narthex bulletin board. Bring your meal item to Luke House, 310 S.
Ingersoll, Madison as near 5 PM as possible, or bring it to church
before 4 PM on January 24th. Call Micky Wherley at 837-2032, if you have
questions.
