There will be only one FLAME 2 this time as we come together to share a
meal and the Ash Wednesday liturgies.
All FLAME households are especially invited to ONE of the following

our brothers & sisters in Haiti.

Retirement Fund for Religious
Sunday, February 7th
Religious facing rising costs. Data submitted to the National
Religious Retirement Office reveals that the average annual cost of care
for women and men religious age 70 and over has more than doubled since
1989. Current statistics put this figure at $35,077 per person annually,
with skilled care reaching nearly $55,000. Your donation to the
Retirement Fund for Religious provides critical support to religious
institutes in meeting the escalating costs of elder care. Please pray
for all religious and give generously to today’s collection.
Circle of Friends
We meet this Wednesday, February 10th, at 9:30 AM lower level
Albert House to watch the movie “The Singing Revolution.” Join us and
bring a brown bag lunch for lunch and discussion after the viewing!
Labyrinth Coming!
We will have the traveling canvas labyrinth here at St.
Albert’s for a few days as we begin Lent this year. The Labyrinth will
be available in the upper level Parish Center on:
Tuesday, February 16th 5:00-9:00 PM
Wed/Thurs. Feb. 17 & 18th 7:30 AM—9:00 PM
Friday, February 19th 7:30 AM—4:00 PM
A labyrinth is literally a pathway to prayer, offering participants
an opportunity to use an ancient form of meditative prayer as a
different method to connect with God. This labyrinth is modeled on the
labyrinth in the floor of Chartres Cathedral in France, which dates back
to about the year 1200 AD. Information and ideas for using the labyrinth
for prayer will be available. In addition to the opportunity to walk the
labyrinth, we will need adults who are willing to “supervise” the
labyrinth for an hour or two when it is “open” - some late afternoons or
evenings. For more information or to volunteer, please contact Paula
837-3798 ext.23. Thank you.
