WORK/DONATE

WORKERS NEEDED

It takes many extra hands to make AlbertFEST work.  And what works best is when the hands that are offering the help are perfectly matched to the type of work the hands prefer to do.
Here are the various areas where an extra pair of hands or two would come in very handy.  We've divided the work by type and, where applicable, further divided the work within that type.
If you're interested in lending a hand in general or have a specific area of interest, let our Festival Coordinator,
Linda Sheridan, know as soon as possible (see bottom of page).

Booth Help

    Inside & Outside Information Booths.
Volunteers should be 25 years of age or older.  You'll answer phones, sell raffle tickets, provide information, assist with emergencies, and, maybe most importantly, help match helpers with jobs.

Baked Goods.  Spend your time selling some of the yummiest baked goodies ever created.  This is inside work, but not recommended for anyone on a serious diet.

Bookstore.  Here, reading materials, movies, and music occupy your time as you do your very best to convince festival visitors that the AlbertFEST bookstore is the best entertainment bargain of all.

Chance Booth.    Quilts, afghans, gift certificates, gift baskets, and more are but a "chance booth ticket" away.  Your task here is to see that festival attendees are able to purchase all the tickets their wallets can accommodate.

Kids Closet.  Enjoy shopping for children's clothing?  You can help others do the same, and you can even make sure they find the best deals possible.

Toy Box.  Still a kid at heart?  Then this booth might be a perfect match for you.  Help others find the perfect toy for that perfect little one.

Games of Fun and Chance

    Bingo.
Volunteers have to be 18 years of age or older to help out here.  You'll sell bingo cards, collect money, call back winning numbers, and deliver winners their checks.

Animal Cage.  Help children chose keys out of a bag and place them in padlocks.  If the locks open, children receive a stuffed animal.

Ball Toss.  Balls are tossed into the game, and points are determined by how many go into the holes.

Basketball Free Throw.  Basketballs are thrown to attempt to make a free throw.

Mini Basketball Toss.  Basketballs are thrown into a mini-hoop

Big Bowling.  Children use oversized bowling pins and balls.

Blow Up Dart Balloons.  Here, you'll use an air compressor to blow up balloons to be used at the dart game.

Dart Toss.  Darts are thrown at targets on a board.

Duck Pond.  The Duck Pond is a game in which small plastic ducks are picked out of a pond of water.

Fish Pond.  Fishing poles are used to "fish" for prizes.

Football Toss.  A football is tossed toward a target.

Jingle Board.  Rings are thrown at money on a board.

Jump For Fun.  Children enjoy a world of jumping and bouncing in this ride.

Lollipop Tree.  Children select a lollipop from a tree to determine a prize.

Milk Bottle Toss.  Baseballs are thrown at milk bottles to try to knock them over.

Noah's Ark.  Bean bag animals are tossed into an ark.

Ping Pong Toss.  Ping pong balls are thrown into small cups filled with water.

Ring Toss.  Rings are thrown at a maze of targets.

Surprise Pool.  Children dig through plastic balls in a pool to retrieve a prize.

Ticket Booth.  Volunteers have to be 18 years of age or older to help sell game tickets for the festival's big prizes.

Toss The Dice.  Children role some large dice to determine their prizes.

Toybank.  This is the air-conditioned area where prizes are distributed.

Water Tic-Tac-Toe.  Children play tic-tac-toe with a grid floating in a pool of water.

Food and Beverage

Homemade Chicken and Ham Dinner

Dressing Preparation.  Help make the dressing, a favorite of dinner-goers year after year.
Main Course Preparation.  Assist in the preparation of chicken, ham, and coleslaw.  Also help set up pie racks, tables, refrigerators, equipment, etc.
        Serving Line Help.
Help dish up generous portions of chicken, ham, dressing, potatoes, corn, gravy, coleslaw, tomatoes, and coffee.
Bussing Tables.  Roll up your sleeves, don an apron, and help clear off tables for the many waves of hungry festival attendees.
Washing Tables.  Roll up your sleeves and don an apron for a different kind of challenge: mountains and mountains of dishes.

    Beer and Entertainment Tent.
Volunteers should be 21 years of age or older.  Here, you'll tend bar and sell drink tickets, while getting an earful of some of AlbertFEST's best music groups.

Ice Cream Booth.  Enjoy bringing smiles to people's faces?  Have children enrolled in Sacred Heart's school?  Then there's no better duty than a shift at the ice cream booth.

    Snack Bar.
Fare on the lighter side is the specialty of this area.  Here, you'll make sure festival visitors receive their fair share of the best hot dogs, brats,
hamburgers, and pulled pork and steak sandwiches.  Cooks, servers, and "sandwich artists" are all needed.

Transportation
    Parking.
Help direct traffic and make sure cars are safely parked.

Patio Table Transportation.  Help transport tables to and from General Casualty.  It's a heavy lifting job, but a great way to re-condition those abs.

Thursday-evening Set Up and  Sunday-evening Clean Up

Many hands make light work!  Everyone is invited to help out.

DONATIONS NEEDED
There are many different items that are needed to make a fun-filled and financially successful festival.  Here are our current needs.

The Kids Closet needs gently worn kids clothing items, from infant sizes to boy/girl sizes 16
, as well as child-sized hangers.

The Bookstore is looking for hardback and softcover books, as well as DVD's, CD's, videos, and video and computer games.

The Toy Store is accepting donations of clean toys with all parts and in working condition, as well as any of the following that are less than 5 years old, clean, and in excellent condition: boppy pillows, playpens, bassinettes, swings, high chairs, crib linens, mobiles, bumpers, and strollers.  No car seats, cribs, or bottles, please.

The Games area could use clean stuffed animals and 'Happy Meal" toys (the ones in the packages preferred).  Also needed are Tootsie Pops and Charm
Pops.

All donations can be dropped off at the Parish Center.
