IMPORTANT REMINDERS:
2012 Diocese of Madison Annual Catholic Appeal Begins!
Please make a generous pledge!

This week, parishioners throughout the Diocese will receive a mailing from Bishop Morlino. The Bishop is asking for a pledge to the Annual Catholic Appeal to support the work of the Diocese of Madison.
Please prayerfully consider making a pledge payable over 5-months to the appeal. Your gift will help enable the diocese to reach its goal and provide grant opportunities for Catholic schools, religious education programs and assisting distressed parishes in need.
Thank you for your continuing support of our parish, Diocese and the work of the Church throughout the world.

February FLAME DATES:

Mark your calendars now for the February Healing and Hope sessions. During FLAME 1 we will learn and share about the Sacrament of Anointing and the many ways our Catholic sacraments can touch our humanity: emotionally, spiritually, and physically.
FLAME 1 Dates: February 12 and February 15
During FLAME 2 we will see and experience the Sacrament of Anointing during ALL the Masses on February 18 & 19.
All FLAME households of faith are also asked to attend one of the services on Ash Wednesday. If you like, come support the Twinning Soup Supper with a delicious bowl of soup, some great bread, and donate to a worthwhile cause at the same time. The services are: 8:30 AM Mass; 4:00 PM Service, and
7:00 PM Mass.

Special Sacramental Preparation Classes in January

Grade 2 and those preparing for First Communion with that class, have a gathering on Sunday, January 29th, with Sr. Joan at 9:00 AM in the lower level Parish Center. Parents attend with the children! Following the meeting there will be a special blessing during the 10:30 AM Mass.
Grade 10 and those preparing for Confirmation with that class have a Theology of Confirmation session on Sunday, January 29th, with Susan at 6:30 PM in Church. Sponsors OR a parent must attend with the youth.

Save A Life—Donate Blood
St. Albert’s Once-a-Week Club

Nearly every two seconds someone in the country needs blood. This need might arise due to trauma, surgery, organ transplant, premature or difficult childbirth or treatment of disease such as leukemia and cancer. It only takes a little of your time and bit of inconvenience to help save these lives. St. Albert’s is involved in this important effort by the American Red Cross through the Once A Week Club. In 2011 parishioners and friends made 184 blood donations to support this important effort. Please join us to make 2012 an even more successful year as we help to save lives. Make a donation either at one of the Red Cross Donor Centers or at a special blood drive held throughout the county. Sign the Once-A-Week log with the code for St. Albert’s which is 116 so that the parish will get credit. For more information, including times and locations for blood drives, please visit www.redcrossblood.org or call 1-800-733-2767. Thank you.

Recycle the Warmth Blanket Drive
Friday through Sunday, January 27-29th

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is very pleased that St. Alberts has agreed to help with our 20th Annual Recycle the Warmth Blanket Drive. St. Vincent de Paul is an organization committed to helping our neighbors in need without regard to the religion, race, or ethnic background of those whom we assist. This drive helps us provide free blankets, pillows, sheets and other bedding throughout the year to those who seek our help. We need your help to make this possible.
Our drive will take place Friday through Sunday, January 27-29. To participate, you may purchase new blankets, or donate your gently used blankets and bedding to any of the Shopko stores in the Madison area or drop them off at Church in the boxes provided. Your generosity is greatly appreciated, and we thank you in advance for helping our neighbors in need through this year’s Recycle the Warmth Blanket Drive.
